This letter is intended to document the outstanding performance of Hallett & Sons Expert Movers, Inc. regarding the recent move of the Minneapolis Public Library.

This was a complex move involving three separate locations; an interim site, off-site storage and a new Central Library still under construction. The move consisted of relocating over 2 million collection items from an interim site, housed on shelves on four floors with boxed collections in three locations, and an off-site storage location consisting of 1400 pallets of boxed materials. Collections located in both the interim and off-site storage facilities required merging and interfiling. Our move also consisted of furniture and equipment, and the library’s artwork collection.

Throughout the entire process of planning, scheduling and moving materials, the Hallett staff was courteous, flexible, calm and always positive and cheerful. Their management of this project far exceeded all expectations the Library had when selecting a moving firm. Hallett and Sons are skilled professionals with the ability to handle unexpected issues immediately and with great care. They are an extremely hard working, efficient and organized team, always putting the needs of the library collections and staff first.

In addition, Dawn Hallett was an invaluable resource. Her consulting expertise and guidance through a very challenging move process, along with her important assistance with collection layouts and fill-rate calculations, to name a few, was beyond helpful. In fact, there were numerous times that her experience and recommendations prevented the library from making costly errors in our planning. As the Facility Operations Manager, and the move coordinator, Dawn made the entire experience rewarding for me personally, on all levels.

This was my second large move with the Minneapolis Public Library. Both moves were very different, with the most recent the more difficult and complex. Hallett & Sons Expert Movers, Inc. is by far, and without question, the very best.
